Restaurant owner snags 4BD in Washington from lawyer

Medium 9f0614360dca380c512b99fc954b052d Paolo Sacco bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 1523 Eighth St. N.W. in Washington from Edward Scheideman for $1.075 million on Sept. 22.

Scheideman paid $1.05 million for the property in March 2007. The 2,880-square-foot house was built in 1900 in the Cardozo/Shaw neighborhood.

Sacco is the owner of Ristorante Tosca. He has more than 20 years of restaurant experience throughout Italy, London, New York and Washington D.C.

In the past, he was the maitre d' at the Bice Restaurant from 1993 to 1995. He also was headwaiter at Paper Moon Milano Restaurant in New York City, assistant maitre d' at Mario Franco Restaurants in London, England, and chef de partie at Playtime Ristorante in Milan, Italy.

Scheideman is an associate at DLA Piper. He has more than 10 years of experience in commercial cases.

He received his B.A. from Hobart College and his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis.

According to, there were 4,155 home sales in Washington in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
