Motley Fool CTO grabs 4BD in Capitol Hill North

Medium 5562b623bf8fa0be5896d5bca79e734f Scott D. Day bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 1006 Massachusetts Ave. N.E. in Washington from Stephanie K. Duncan for $983,500 on Sept. 22.

Duncan paid $775,000 for the property in June 2003. The 1,646-square-foot house was built in 1900 in the Capitol Hill North neighborhood.

Day is the chief technical officer of The Motley Fool, a multimedia financial-services company.

Before Motley, he was the vice president of application software and analytics at In-Q-Tel. He also was vice president of information technology at ProFund Advisors, and founding employee and vice president of systems development at the innovative financial-services firm FOLIOfn.

He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a master's degree in management of information technology from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce.

According to, there were 4,155 home sales in Washington in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
