Chiropractor takes Petworth 4BD

Medium ea7821819974cab7cd00a8aa9094ae53 Anthony Mirando bought a four-bedroom, three-bath home at 4401 Seventh St. N.W. in Washington, D.C. from Anna Kostovos for $560,000 on Oct. 8.

The 1,644-square-foot house was built in 1917 in the neighborhood of Petworth.

Mirando is a chiropractor.

He previously was the chairman of the District of Columbia Board of Chiropractic Examiners in 2000. He was a past president of the District of Columbia Chiropractic Association and helped write laws pertaining to chiropractic practice in 1985. He served on the Board of Directors of the Straight Chiropractic Academic Standards Association and was a member of the Sherman College Board of Regents. He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1986 and was named Sherman College Chiropractor of the Year in 1991.

He received a bachelor of science degree from the State University of New York and a master's degree in organizational management from Marymount University. He also graduated from the Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic.

According to BlockShopper.com there were 4,212 home sales in Washington, D.C. in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
