Virginia Tech asst. professor buys 3BD in Columbia Heights

Medium ba1e844c058df4a12f20c6a4127326cd Matthew M. Dull and Rachel Girshick bought a three-bedroom, 1.5-bath home at 1204 Shepherd St. N.W. in Washington, D.C. from Marjorie McRay for $320,000 on Oct. 13.

McRay bought the property for $392,940 in Feb. 2008. The 1,080-square-foot house was built in 1927 in the neighborhood of Columbia Heights.

Dull is an assistant professor at Virginia Tech's Center for Center for Public Administration and Policy in Alexandria.

He attended the University of Notre Dame and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Girshik studied environmental studies and international affairs at Lewis & Clark College.

She also holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 4,205 home sales in Washington, D.C. during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $374,700.
