Neurologist, software engineer grab 2BD in Georgetown

Medium 481f935b689e27a58ca05788c8ef960e Katherine Conant and Jason Balmuth bought a two-bedroom, two-bath townhome at 1530 32nd St. N.W. in Washington, D.C. from Darius Songaila for $905,000 on Oct. 15.

Songaila and Jacquelyn Songaila bought the property for $910,000 on July 2007. The 1,176-square-foot house was built in 1900 in the neighborhood of Georgetown.

Conant is an assistant professor of neurology at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore, Md. She has been a member of the faculty since 1998.

She received her bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1983 from Cornell University and her M.D. in 1987 from the Boston University School of Medicine. She received advanced training in neurology from Georgetown University Hospital in D.C. and the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Md.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 4,205 home sales in Washington, D.C. during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $374,700.
