Environmental association project manager buys Silver Spring 3BD

Medium 2d75ca2809fa5b3c76179abe0a39b5ca Kurt and Elizabeth Rakouskas bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 426 Mississippi Ave. in Silver Spring from Gilbert and Suzanne Fournier for $486,000 on Oct. 6.

The 1,160-square-foot house was built in 1940 in the Silver Spring East of Colesville Road neighborhood.

Mr. Rakouskas is an executive project manager for the network operations board at the Environmental Council of the States, a national non-profit, non-partisan association of environmental agency leaders. Prior to joining ECOS, he was operations manager at Partners for the Common Good and a project manager for the 2000 U.S. Census data capture system.

He earned his bachelor's degree in international affairs from George Washington University and his M.P.A. in environmental policy form the University of Massachusetts.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 531 home sales in Silver Spring during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $392,000.
