Health institute scientist sells Bethesda 4BD

Medium 6f5d3f832983a8dec2387a5a30d5b5ce Robert and Frances Zwanzig sold a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 5314 Sangamore Road in Bethesda to Marisa and Brian Michnick for $728,000 on Oct. 13.

The 2,506-square-foot house was built in 1966 in the Brookmont North neighborhood.

Mr. Zwanzig was a scientist in the laboratory of chemical physics at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases in Bethesda. He is a theoretical physicist known for his works in statistical physics and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics and thermodynamics. Prior to that, he was a professor of physical science at the University of Maryland, an assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University and a research fellow at Yale University.

He earned his bachelor's degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, his M.S. from the University of California and his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 915 home sales in Bethesda during the past 12 months, with a sale price of $720,000.
