NIST director sells Bethesda condo

Medium a929d2af6999d6c56d695a3d3653e988 Dr. Eric Amis and Marilyn Amis sold a condo at 4808 Moorland Lane in Bethesda to Cartus Financial Corp. for $495,000 on Oct. 26.

The 997-square-foot Unit #1007 is part of the Cristopher development, which was built in 1991 in the Bethesda South of Wilson Lane neighborhood.

Dr. Amis is the acting director of the materials science and engineering laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg. He previously served as the chief of the polymers division at NIST and the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Polymer Science: Polymer Physics. He was also an assistant and associate professor of chemistry at USC and a project associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

He received his chemistry degree from Willamette University (1976) and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1981).

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 888 sales in Bethesda during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $715,000.
