Software company head sells Potomac 7BD

Medium ac3788ed5a3274223ec49ad36b044597 Daniel and Mary Anne Gillis sold a seven-bedroom, eight-bath home at 8511 Country Club Dr. in Potomac to Marc Wertheimer for $4,462,500 on Oct. 30.

The 9,688-square-foot house was built in 1999 in the Potomac South of Democracy Blvd. neighborhood.

Mr. Gillis is the director of SciQuest, a web-based procurement software company. He is also the director for the Lawrence Transplant Foundation in Washington, D.C. Previously, he was the president and chief executive officer of SAGA Systems Inc., an enterprise software company, and an executive vice president at Falcon Systems in Maryland.

He earned a B.S. in management in 1968 at the University of Rhode Island.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 419 home sales in Potomac during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $773,250.
