WaMu portfolio manager gets Potomac 4BD

Medium 0cbf5c2ba84999f01c00b80000f18b10 Edward O'Brien and his wife, Ashleigh, bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 8718 Tuckerman Lane in Potomac from Elsie Mae Costello and Dudley Earl Brown for $680,000 on Dec. 28.

The 2,514-square-foot house was built in 1971 in the Potomac North of Democracy Blvd. neighborhood.

Mr. O'Brien is a portfolio manager at Washington Mutual. Previously, he was associate director at Bear Stearns and a yield book analyst of fixed income research at Salomon Smith Barney. He has also been a portfolio coordinator at Loomis Sayles.

He attended the College of the Holy Cross.

Mrs. O'Brien is the marketing manager of the agency performance management team at Microsoft Corp., where she previously worked as a senior finance manager of global advertising. Prior to that, she served as a finance manager at Pfizer and as a supervisor at the Investors Bank & Trust.

She earned her M.B.A. in finance in 2000 from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business. She also attended Colgate University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 493 home sales in Potomac during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $780,000.
