University professors trade Friendship Village condo

Medium c19026cc499a9db4185eac6524dbf9cb Georges A. Guiochon and Lois A. Beaver bought a condo at 4515 Willard Ave. in Friendship Village from Roberto W. Samaniego and Anna O. Ilvina for $710,000 on Oct. 26.

Unit #308 is part of the 736-unit Willoughby Chevy Chase condominium development, which was built in 1982 in the Friendship Village West of Friendship Blvd. neighborhood.

Guiochon has been a professor at the University of Tennessee. Prior to that, he worked as a professor at Georgetown University and he wrote six books and almost 1000 scientific papers.

He attended Ecole Polytechnique in France and he received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Paris.

Beaver has served as an associate director at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Samaniego serves as an associate professor in the department of economics at the George Washington University. He was previously a visiting associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania, an assistant professor at the George Washington University, a consultant at Ecoandino Inc. and a research analyst at the United Nations Development Program.

He received his certificate in East Asian studies and his B.A. in economics from Princeton University. He also completed his M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 53 condo sales in Friendship Village during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $298,000.
