Islanders' defenseman drops house in Huntington Station

Medium 1e9683eaab86774bccb4fae066095449 Brendan Witt and his Salima Witt sold their home at 691 Park Ave. in Huntington Station to John and Kostantina Vlahos for $565,000 on Aug. 20.

The Witts paid $904,000 for the property in Sept. 2006.

Mr. Witt is a defenseman and alternate captain for the National Hockey League's New York Islanders.

He signed with the team in July 2006. Before that, he played for the Nashville Predators after he was traded in March 2006. Earlier, he played with the Washington Capitals. He also played for the English team, the Bracknell Bees, during the 2004-05 NHL lockout.

According to, there were 150 home sales in Huntington Station in 2008, with a median sales price of $351,600.
