Fashion co. owners buy Watermill 4BD for $1.5M

Medium 87acbc469e62b322cd48ad64c0e1581d Sachin and Babi Ahluwalia bought a four-bedroom, two-bath home at 42 Flying Goose Path in Watermill from Gary Bierfriend for $1.5 million on Sept. 18.

Bierfriend paid $860,000 for the property in Feb. 2004. The 2,521-square-foot house was built in 2003 in the Watermill Inland neighborhood.

Mr. and Ms. Ahluwalia are the owners of ANKASA, a fashion company that source fabrics and design finishes for houses and home decor resale chains.

Bierfriend is president at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Lending. He also held various key positions in the company.

Earlier in his career, he was a loan officer and branch manager at IPI Skyscraper Mortgage Corp.

He received his B.B.A. in banking and finance from Hofstra University and his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 31 home sales in Watermill in the last 12 months, with a median sales price of $2.5 million.
