USC prof unloads Hancock Park home for $2.55M

Medium 9f575ae587b6b58ff26e12b2cd788aa9 Michael Kassner and Kelley M. Nichols sold the five-bedroom, four-bath home at 321 S. Irving Blvd. in Greater Mid-Wilshire/Hancock Park to Michael E. Murphy for $2.55 million on Sept. 15.

Kassner and Nichols acquired the property for $2.3 million in March 2005. The 4,220-square-foot house was built in 1919.

Kassner is a professor and chair at the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California.

He earned his bachelor's in engineering from Northwestern and his master's and Ph.D. in materials science and engineering from Stanford.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 335 home sales in Greater Mid-Wilshire/Hancock Park during the past 12 months, with a median price of $650,000.
