WineStyles, the place in Cypress to find great-tasting yet inexpensive wine, is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its Second Annual Charity Tournament, which will benefit the Special Olympics of Texas. Scheduled to take place on Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13 at Longwood Golf Club, the golf tournament will include a special silent auction and raffle event.
"We are firm believers in giving back in any way we can," WineStyles of Cypress' Mary Kay Henry said. "Seeing the pride in the face of our own Special Olympian (a nephew), one can't help but want to give to this organization."
The Special Olympics of Texas is a nonprofit organization that provides year-round sports training and competitions for more than 44,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. In 2012, WineStyles raised $12,685 from two fundraising events given by generous donors in support of the cause. This year, the wine shop hopes to bring out the same generosity from patrons - aiming to double the amount raised - while providing them with fun and excitement.
The golf tournament will kick-off with a silent auction and raffle to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, April 12. It will resume at breakfast the following day at 7 a.m., followed by the shotgun start at 8 a.m. Lunch and awards will conclude the event.
The proceeds of the 2013 Charity Golf Tournament will help pay for a Special Olympian go to the Special Olympic Games. Both sponsors and golfers can sign-up at www.wscharitygolf.com.
