Telecommunications expert scores home in Marine Village

Medium bb16389dbf1448e9c8061a914cab2afb Amr S. Badawi bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 5445 Marine Ave. in Hawthorne from Damon T. Sun for $520,000 on Dec. 1.

The 2,076-square-foot house was built in 1994 in West Hawthorne. It is located in the Marine Village development.

Mr. Badawi is the executive president of Egypt's National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. He also works as a professor of electronics at Cairo University. He also became part of GTE & General Dynamics, Telecomp International and Aydin Systems.

He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in electronics engineering from Cairo University. He received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
