He previously worked for PacifiCare Health Systems, Inc., where he was senior vice president of corporate development and treasury operations. Prior to joining PacifiCare in 2003, he was CEO at NetCatalyst, an investment banking firm.

He earned a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Richmond and a M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
