Former Toys"R"Us president sells West Delray 3BD for $720K

Seymour B. Ginsburg and Dorothy Usiskin sold a three-bedroom, four bath at 6747 Casa Grande Way in West Delray to Lawrence Sherman for $720,000 on March 17.

Ginsburg and Usiskin paid $625,000 for the 3,377 square foot house, which was built in 1997, in Nov. 1999.

Ginsburg is the author of In Search of the Unitive Vision: Letters of Sri Madhava Ashish to an American Businessman, 1978-1997 and Gurdjieff Unveiled.

He was the founder of a predecessor business and the first president of Toys"R"Us. He later became a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. During a visit to India in 1978, he met the guru Sri Madhava Ashish, who led him to a study of the teachings of Gurdjieff, an Armenian-Greek mystic and spiritual teacher.

Ginsburg is the founder of the Gurdjieff Insitute of Florida. He was also president of the Theosophical Society of Florida for several years.

The Chicago native graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in accountancy and law.

Home sales in West Delray dropped almost 26 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also tumbled down to $172,000 from the previous $275,000.
