Stephen and Ruth Balestra bought a five-bedroom, four-bath home at 2875 N.W. 29th Dr. in Boca Raton from Avram and Joanne Smukler for $500,000 on Nov. 18.

The Smuklers purchased the property for $630,000 on July 2004.

The 3,055-square-foot house, which was built in 1988, is in the Woodlands subdivision.

Mr. Balestra is an economist, linguist, historian and writer. He is also the manager of Latin & Hellas, a translation services company in Delray Beach.

There have been 1,254 sales in Boca Raton in 2008 with median sales price of $350,000.
