FIU football coach, magazine publisher buy in Miami Beach

Medium 9e5ce50c1ed2aa46e23b247a2b9f147b Mario M. Cristobal and his wife, Jessica, bought a four-bedroom, four-bath home at 6146 Pinetree Dr. in Miami Beach from Andrew Stark and his wife, Elizabeth, for $820,000 on Sept. 30.

The Starks paid $750,000 for the property in Oct. 2006. The 2,771-square-foot home in the La Gorce neighborhood was built in 1936.

Mr. Cristobal is the head football coach at Florida International University in Miami. He joined the team in 2007 and has compiled a 6-18 record in his first two full seasons with the Golden Panthers.

Previously, he was an assistant coach at University of Miami for four years and an assistant coach at Rutgers University. Prior to his coaching career, he played for the Amsterdam Admirals in NFL Europe.

He graduated from the University of Miami, where he was a four-year letterman and a member of the Hurricanes' football team.

Mrs. Cristobal serves as president of Key Biscayne Magazine and Brickell Magazine. She formerly served as publisher of the International Yachtsman Magazine and was vice president of Wave Magazine.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 3,553 sales in Miami Beach in 2008, with a median sales price of $375,000.
