Parkinson foundation CIO gets South Miami 4BD

Medium d1a5f0d04d6a07ebfd9ffc36b87076ad Dr. Peter N. Schmidt and Eleanor Schmidt bought a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 7575 S.W. 52nd Ave. in Unincorporated South Miami from Shelby and Mary Highsmith for $975,000 on Sept. 25.

The 4,462-square-foot house in the West Cutler Area neighborhood was built in 1990.

Dr. Schmidt is the chief information officer and director of programs at the National Parkinson Foundation. He has previously served as director at Cronus Partners and he was president of Doctor Global Ltd.

He has an M.S. and a Ph.D. from the Cornell University Sibley School of Mechanical Engineering, where he studied gait and balance and total joint replacement. He graduated from Harvard University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 217 home sales in Unincorporated South Miami in 2008, with a median sales price of $235,500.
