Florida Power & Light CIO gets Boca Raton 5BD

38f0132db280c61e54165d545cb56293 Lakshman and Piya Charanjiva bought a five-bedroom, 5.5-bath home at 4946 N.W. 23rd Court in Boca Raton from Jonathan and Tracey Mendel for $1.125 million on Sept. 9.

The Mendels paid $1.295 million for the property in July 2006. The 4,289-square-foot home in the Boca Raton Northwest neighborhood was built in 1997.

Mr. Charanjiva is the vice president and chief information officer at Florida Power & Light Co., a Miami-based provider of electricity related services. He previously worked at the AES Corp., where he served as a vice president and global chief information officer.

He earned his bachelor of commerce in accounting from the University of Bombay in India and an M.B.A. from Tulane University.

Ms. Charanjiva is a management consulting professional specializing in business planning, operations, finance and marketing. She most recently was director of operations for media and entertainment at Scient. Before that, she was a manager at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and a senior analyst at Salomon Bros. Inc.

She attended the American University Kogod School of Business and the George Washington University School of Business.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 1,359 sales in Boca Raton in 2008, with a median sales price of $325,000.
