Public health consultant sells Miami Beach 3BD

Medium f037f85289617a81017a07de9d5001fa Dr. Anthony J. Japour sold a three-bedroom, three-bath condo at 1000 S. Pointe Dr. in Miami Beach to S. Alvares Declaration Tru Gloria for $2 million on Oct. 2.

Japour paid $1.175 million for the property in Feb. 2003. The 2,618-square-foot Unit #3302 is part of the Murano at Portofino, a high-rise building which includes 189 units on 37 floors. It was built in 2002 in the South Point neighborhood.

Dr. Japour is an internist specialized in infectious disease in Miami Beach. He is the director at Anthony Japour and Associates Medical and Scientific Consulting Inc., a consulting firm on strategic planning, public health policy, education and research of emerging infectious diseases.

He has served as the director and curator at A.J. Japour Gallery, the founder of Infinity 8 Art Management, as an associate professor of medicine at the University of Miami Medical School and as director at Abbott Laboratories.

He earned his bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan and his M.D. at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 1986. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in 1989 and his fellowship in internal medicine at the Harvard University School of Medicine in 1992.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 1,650 condo sales in Miami Beach in 2008, with a median sales price of $250,000.
