FIU professor purchases Downtown 2BD condo

Medium 390ee5325a262fd2ca375f35d9ed0bbe Irma Becerra Fernandez and Leonard Jessup bought a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at 888 Brickell Key Drive Unit #1709 in Miami from Morris Benguiat and Esther Benguiat for $430,000 on Oct. 29.

The Benguiats paid $284,000 for the unit in May 2001. The 1,310-square-foot condo is part of One Tequesta Point condo development, which was built in 1995. It is located in Downtown.

Fernandez is director and fellow of the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center, Department of Decision Sciences and professor of the College of Business Administration at Florida International University.

She was MIT's Sloan visiting scholar with the Center for Information Systems Research and the 2007 Kauffman Entrepreneurship Professor. She has studied and advised organizations, in particular NASA, about KM practices and founded the FIU Knowledge Management Lab.

She earned her Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Florida International University and both her M.S. and B.S. from University of Miami.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 1,764 condo sales in Miami during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $155,000.
