City IT director buys Deerfield Beach 3BD

Medium 230ac3a8525c81ce50c86dacbcdbea10 Theodore and Kathleen LaMott bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 1516 S.E. 10th St. in Deerfield Beach from Michael McKnought Smith and Jackie Higgins for $407,000 on Oct. 21.

Smith and Higgins paid $500,000 for the 1,956-square-foot house in June 2004. It was built in 1958 in the Deerfield Beach East neighborhood.

Mr. LaMott is the director of information technology with the City of Hallandale Beach.

He holds a B.A. degree in computer science from the State University of New York-Potsdam, an M.B.A. in international business from the University of Miami and an M.S. in information systems from Nova Southeastern University.

According to, there have been 2,156 home sales in Deerfield Beach during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $66,000.
