Non-profit board member buys $2.3M Boerum Hill 7BD

Medium 4a056de6a5a9c472cf08fbeacbcb7d09 Doreen N. Hermelin and Francine H. Levite bought a seven-bedroom, three-bath home at 298 State St. in Boerum Hill from Herbert Regenstreif for $2.3 million on March 2.

The 3,500-square-foot house was built in 1899.

Hermelin is a member of the national board of directors at ORT America, an organization for the advancement of Jewish people, where she was previously the president. She is also a member of the World ORT Board of Trustees. She was affiliated with the Jewish Theological Seminary, United Jewish Communities, Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and the National Council of Jewish Women.

Levite is a board member at JCP Downtown, a non-profit group providing support for the Jewish community.

Regenstreif is an attorney at the law firm Fried & Regenstreif PC, where he focuses on realty, church law and estate planning cases.

He received a bachelor's degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a J.D. from New York Law School.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 57 home sales in Boerum Hill during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $765,000.
