Postdoctoral fellow gets Gold Coast condo

Medium 496d759866812114c23283a95292828f Samira Azarin bought a one-bedroom, one-bath condo at 111 E. Chestnut St. in Gold Coast from Sidney Lasley for $299,900 on Jan. 25.

The 1,000-square-foot condo, Unit 54G, is one of the 449 units at Elysees condo development, which was built in 1976. It is located in the Magnificent Mile subdivision.

Azarin is a postdoctoral fellow at the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University. She also serves as the president of the American Society for Engineering Education chapter at Northwestern University.

She received a master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Doctorate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 530 home sales in Gold Coast during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $355,000.
