Commodity trading advisor buys 3BD condo in the South Loop

Medium 082a2472d012d73f80feec5aadf59ebf John L. Roe bought a three-bedroom, three-bath condo at 611 South Wells Street in the South Loop from Harrison Holdings LLC for $415,000 on June 10.

The 1,877-square-foot Unit #3103 is in the Vetro Condominiums.

Mr. Roe is the founder, president and sole principal of ROE Capital Management, a registered commodity trading advisor in Chicago. He is also an associate at MF Global Inc., a commodity brokerage firm.

He worked for BT Trading Group, a futures and options brokerage, which he joined in 2005. The company was acquired by Man Financial (now MF Global) that same year. Before BT Trading, he was a broker in the Eurodollar pit on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

The Vetro Condominiums, which was built in 2007, features 232 units.

There were 620 condo sales in the South Loop in 2008, with a median sales price of $295,000.
