Raja of "Jarrett & Raja" spends $735K in Sunrise Manor

Raja A. Rahman bought a four-bedroom, four bath at 1671 Morning Quiet Street in Sunrise Manor from US Home Corporation for $735,065 on Jan. 4, 2006.

The 4,391 square foot house is in the Middlegate Owens subdivision.

Rahman is the director of the Las Vegas Chamber Concerts, which he founded in 2007. He is also part of the international touring production "Jarrett & Raja".

Early success came in when he won in the Canadian Music Competitions and the YKAA International Piano Competition. His Carnegie Hall debut took place in 1992 followed by his first Lincoln Center concert in 1993. Along with Ralph Farris, who is also on the board of the Las Vegas Chamber Concerts, he performed at St. Paul's Cathedral in New York to help give relief to tired emergency workers during the Sept. 11 aftermath.

Currently, he is also offering piano tutorials in Las Vegas.

The native Canadian is a graduate of The Juilliard School, having trained under the late Felix Galimir. He took his post-graduate studies in Indiana University.

Home sales in Sunrise Manor dropped 40 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $243,000 to $229,000.
