Mandarin Oriental GM pays $722K in Vegas

Rajesh Jhingon bought a four-bedroom, three bath at 1000 Granger Farm Way in Las Vegas from Roger and Megan Bulloch for $722,000 on July 1.

The Bullochs paid $401,000 for the 2,989 square foot house, which was built in 1998, in Aug. 2002. The property is in the Peccole West subdivision.

Jhingon is the newly-appointed general manager of Mandarin Oriental in Las Vegas, which is slated for a 2009 opening.

Previously, he was general manager of Mandarin Oriental's Singapore property. Before he joined the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, he was general manager of the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa in Maldives and the Amarvillas in Agra, India. He has also held various senior managerial positions with The Oberoi Group, both in New Delhi and Bombay.

He moved to Las Vegas to oversee the opening of the Mandarin Oriental, which is located at the entrance of MGM CityCenter.

Home sales in Las Vegas increased four percent in 2008 versus sales in 2007. The median sales price dropped from $275,000 to $230,000.
