Actress Marin Hinkle drops $1.74M in Cheviot Hills

Medium 78dcf674c98f290149e33600a365a8dc Actress Marin Hinkle and Randall Gerson Sommer bought the three-bedroom, three-bath home at 10313 Cheviot Dr. in Cheviot Hills from Hava Idriss Hall and Lewis Carruthers Hall for $1.74 million on Feb. 26.

The 3,228-square-foot house was built in 1924.

Hinkle, 43, is an actress best known for her lengthy stint as Judith Harper/Melnick on the CBS smash sitcom "Two and a Half Men." Hinkle has played the cantankerous ex-wife of Alan Harper — played by Jon Cryer — and mother to adolescent son Jake since the show debuted in 2003.

She also spent four years on the ABC family drama "Once and Again" from 1999-2002, along with the likes of Sela Ward and Evan Rachel Wood. Her other television credits include "Brothers & Sisters," "Private Practice," and "My Own Worst Enemy."

Her film roles include I Am Sam, Frequency and Milk Money. She studied at Brown University and New York University.

Sommer is a partner with Munger Tolles & Olson, LLP-Los Angeles. His practice is focused on complex commercial litigation.

He earned his bachelor's from University of California–Santa Cruz and his J.D. from Columbia Law School.

There were 72 home sales in Cheviot Hills in 2008, with a median price of $1.51 million.
