Sinbad seeking $3M for Hidden Hills home

Actor and comedian Sinbad has listed for sale his five-bedroom, five-bath home at 5950 Spring Valley Road in Hidden Hills for the asking price of $3 million.

Sinbad's brother, Michael Adkins, paid $1.525 million for the home in June 1997. The 5,064-square-foot home was built in 1954.

Marty Trugman of Teles Properties is the listing agent for the property.

Sinbad, born David Adkins, has been performing since he made his first professional break during a 1984 episode of "Star Search." He went on to spend four seasons on NBC's popular Cosby Show spinoff "A Different World" from 1987 to 1991, and eventually landed his own sitcom, "The Sinbad Show," from 1993-94.

He also appeared in the films Necessary Roughness, Jingle All the Way, Coneheads and Houseguest, and briefly hosted the music talk show "Vibe" from 1997-98. He's also one of 14 contestants on this season's latest incarnation of the wildly-popular Donald Trump reality series "The Celebrity Apprentice."

He's originally from Benton Harbor, Mich., and played basketball for two seasons at the University of Denver.
