Scientist and R&D manager spends $1.095M in Clinton

Sandro Belvedere and Marta Cammarano bought a two-bedroom, two-bath condo at 393 W. 49th St. in Clinton from Roland Ortiz for $1.095 million on July 15.

Ortiz paid $1.05 million for Unit #6G in March 2006.

Mr. Belvedere is a director of chemistry at ARMGO Pharma Inc.

He previously worked as a research leader and senior scientist in chemistry at GlaxoSmithKline. Before joining GSK, he also worked as a research scientist at Aton Pharma.

He received his Ph.D. from the Columbia University, his M.S. from the University of Rochester and his graduate degree from the University of Rome "La Sapienza."

Ms. Cammarano is an R&D manager at Intercos USA.

She graduated from Columbia University-New York.

There are 704 units in the 39-story building at 393 W. 49th St., which is also known as World Wide Plaza. It was constructed in 1989.

Sales in World Wide Plaza dropped from 30 to 13 from 2006-2007. The median sales price, however, increased three percent during that same time period, from $485,000 to $500,000.

Condo sales in Clinton/Midtown West/Hell's Kitchen increased 267 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also rose from $536,000 to $965,000 during the same period.
