U. of Pennsylvania researcher sells in West Mount Airy

Medium 81659ec9a8e62a3e17af64837c856d7c Suzanne M. McMurphy sold a 2,364-square-foot home at 101 Nippon St. in West Mount Airy to David Silverman and Julie Fisher for $330,000 on June 26.

McMurphy paid $177,000 for the property in Sept. 2000. It was built in 1925.

Ms. McMurphy has been a senior research investigator in the School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

She has also worked as director of research and as a research partner at Phoenix House. She previously was an officer in planning and evaluation at the Pew Charitable Trusts. She started her career as a professor in statistics and research methodology as well as a statistical consultant and project manager for a private research firm.

She received her M.B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and holds a Ph.D. in social policy.

There were 124 sales in West Mount Airy in 2008, with a median sales price of $234,750.
