Johnson & Johnson scientist deals East Mount Airy 6BD

Medium 8e34751b0bdff77b7ed3134c449ab7d7 Kamyar Farahi and Purvi Kamadar Farahi sold a six-bedroom, three-bath home at 424 E. Mount Airy Ave. in East Mount Airy to Dr. Richard Weiss, Anna Katharine Weiss and Daniel Anthony del Portal for $333,000 on June 30.

The Farahis paid $253,000 for the property in Oct. 2003. The 2,443-square-foot house was built in 1900.

Mr. Farahi is a senior clinical scientist and medical scientist liaison at Centocor/Johnson & Johnson.

Prior to that, he worked as a research scientist at the University of Chicago and as a former adjunct lecturer and thesis adviser at Chestnut Hill College.

He received his B.S from the University of Georgia and holds a Ph.D.

Dr. Weiss is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst in New York. He also is a clinical associate professor of psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and the New York Psychoanalytic

Ms. Weiss graduated from Harvard University and received her master's degree in Russian and east European studies from Oxford University. She is a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Del Portal is completing his residency in emergency medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

He graduated from the University of Georgia and was a medical student at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ms. Weiss and Mr. Del Portal were married in May.

There were 183 home sales in East Mount Airy in 2008, with a median sales price of $154,000.
