The 9,297-square-foot house in the Paradise Valley North neighborhood was built in 2006. Cathy Fassero of Choice Real Estate Group is the listing agent for the home.

Mr. Hampton is a starting pitcher for the Houston Astros. He had a 141-105 career record with a 4.01 ERA in 388 games entering this season, his 15th in the MLB.

Hampton was drafted in the fifth round of the 1990 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners and he made his MLB debut with that team in 1993, but had a disappointing rookie campaign and was traded to the Astros the following season. He spent six seasons with the Astros, going 22-4 with a 2.90 ERA and being named to his first All-Star team his final year with the team.

He was traded to Mets after the season and, in 2001, signed a record-setting eight-year, $121 million contract with the Colorado Rockies. In more recent years Hampton has suffered a number of injuries that kept him out of baseball for two years. He returned in 2008 with the Atlanta Braves before signing with the Astros prior to the 2009 season.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 140 home sales in Paradise Valley in 2008, with a median sales price of $1.4375 million.
