Consulting firm principal grabs Groton 3BD

Medium 0ae3eecea7cde8aa3862570b4d795386 Joseph Murli bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 16 Pearl St. in Groton from Matthew D. Fay for $410,000 on April 27.

The 1,837-square-foot house was built in 1898.

Murli is the principal of The Murli Group, a lean consulting group which works in healthcare, transactional and industrial sectors. He previously was a member of the faculty at Lean Enterprise Institute and was the manufacturing vice president for the Kamatics division of Kaman Corp. He also served as general manager for Chengdu Aerotech and the director for North American Operations at Ensign Bickford.

He earned an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut, a bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering from the State University of New York and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Post University.

Fay is the president and principal at Poltergrapes Inc. He previously was the director of dining services at Connecticut College. He was also a food service unit manager at the University of Virginia.

He holds a B.S. in food service management from Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 266 home sales in Groton during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $195,000.
