Banking exec spends $475K in Town & Country

Matthew Torbett and his wife, Shannon, bought a four-bedroom, 2.5 bath at 13330 Thornhill Dr. in Town & Country for $475,000 from Debra J. Firth on May 1.

Firth paid $350,000 for the property in July 2001. The 2,640 square foot house was built in 1969.

Mr. Torbett is an assistant vice president at The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

Mrs. Torbett has served as vice president for institutional advancement at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. She left the company on April 10 to move to St. Louis to join her family.

She graduated from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Va., and holds a master's degree in historic preservation from the University of Georgia.

Home sales in Town & Country have risen 70.1 percent thus far in 2008. The median sale price, however, has fallen from $683,000 in 2007 to $655,000 so far this year.
