Prince Valiant illustrator and Norman Rockwell model owned this house for 51 years

Famed illustrator John Cullen Murphy owned this house from 1953 until he passed away in 2004. He worked on the popular and long-running Prince Valiant comic strip from 1970 to 2004. Murphy was also the artist for Big Ben Bolt from 1950 to 1978. He was the 15-year-old model for Norman Rockwells Starstruck which appeared on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post on September 22, 1934. Rockwell became close with Murphy and also nurtured his artistic talent.
