Senator John F. Kennedy bought this house in 1953 after wedding Jacqueline Bouvier. He became President in 1961 and was assassinated in 1963. Kennedy was the first and only Catholic President, only President to win a Pulitzer Prize, and the first President born in the 20th Century.
