Geologist, M. King Hubbert, owned this house in 1967. His work revolutionized gas and oil exploration. In 1948 he predicted the 1970s energy crisis and he received the Rockefeller Public Service Award in 1977. Hubbert retired from the Shell Oil Company in 1964, worked with the United States Geological Survey, and taught at Stanford University. He passed away in 1989.
