Norwegian resistance fighter and diplomat owned this house

Norwegian diplomat, Hans Engen, owned this house when he passed away in 1966. He was Norwegian Ambassador to the U.S. from 1963 to 1966. During the German occupation of Norway from 1940 to 1945 Engen was a coordinator of the cooperation between the exiled Norwegian government and the Norwegian resistance movement. Engen was foreign affairs editor of Verdens Gang, Norway's largest print newspaper, from 1946 to 1949.
