Retired diplomat owned this house

Gardiner Shaw was retired from the United States Department of State in 1961 when he owned this house. His primary foreign service was in Turkey. Shaw retired as Assistant Secretary of State in 1945 and devoted the rest of his life to adult and juvenile criminal rehabilitation. He was president of the American Correctional Association in 1942.
