Inventor of de-icing system for airplanes owned this house

John Geisse was a retired government employee and inventor in 1961 when he owned this house. He was named director of development for the Bureau of Air Commerce, a forerunner of the Federal Aviation Administration, in 1934. Geisse designed the first electrical system for de-icing the wings of airplanes. He obtained many patents and in 1950 received the Department of Commerce's Gold Medal Award for his contributions to civil aviation. Geisse passed away in 1988.
