Edward Tamm was a U.S. District Court judge for the District of Columbia in 1961 when he owned this house. He was appointed by President Harry S. Truman in 1948. Tamm was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965. He was deputy director of the FBI from 1930 to 1948. Tamm passed away in 1985.
