Reired Rear Admiral Leo Colbert owned this house in 1961. He spent his entire 42 year career with the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, retiring as director in 1950. The National Geodetic Survey defines and manages a national coordinate system, providing the foundation for transportation and communication, mapping and charting, and a multitude of scientific and engineering applications. Colbert passed away in 1968.
