Senator Richard Nixon bought this house in 1951. He became President of the United States in 1969. Nixon is the only President to resign from office and the only President elected twice in both the offices of the Presidency and Vice Presidency. He lived here for six years until his second term as Vice President during the Eisenhower Administration. Nixon passed away in 1994.
