Howard Dean III grew up in this building. He served six terms as Governor of Vermont and ran for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination. From 2005 to 2009 he was chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Dean may best be remembered for the "Dean Scream" he delivered during his concession speech at the 2004 Iowa Democratic caucuses.
