PR, advertising execs buy in Oak Park

Medium 304b6e9076409380e9ebd3736cc0f61b Margaret and John Hoerster bought a one-bath home at 612 S. Euclid Ave. in Oak Park from Thomas R. MacKechney for $385,000 on Sept. 10.

Mr. MacKechney bought the property for $355,000 in July 2002. The 1,072-square-foot house in the Southeast Central Oak Park neighborhood was built in 1913.

Ms. Hoerster is a management supervisor at Ruder Finn, a public relations firm in Chicago.

She received a bachelor's degree in public relations from Marquette University in 2001.

MacKechney is senior vice president and creative director of Element79 Partners, an advertising agency in Chicago. He was the senior vice president and group creative director at FCB Chicago and at Bayer Bess Vanderwarker. He has also worked for Leo Burnett.

He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism/public relations and sociology/urban planning from Oklahoma State University.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 578 home sales in Oak Park in 2008, with a median sales price of $313,500.
