Eric and Michelle Lorge bought a five-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 1029 Elmwood Ave. in Wilmette from Nina and Matthew Gworek for $1.25 million on Sept. 22.

The 2,985-square-foot house in the East Wilmette neighborhood was built in 1904.

Mr. Lorge serves as the managing director of the transaction advisory group at Alvarez & Marsal Advisory Group, a business consulting firm in Chicago. Prior to that, he was director of transaction services at KPMG, a manager of transaction advisory services at Arthur Andersen and a senior financial analyst with a publicly traded specialty retail company.

He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 268 home sales in Wilmette in 2008, with a median sales price of $550,000.
